I am Malaysian Chinese born in a little kampung (village) called Menglembu in Perak; grew up in Kuching Sarawak; lived in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Ipoh. I now reside permanently in the county of Hertfordshire in the UK. I have been here for nearly three decades now, married to a British husband. We have a daughter and a son.
I enjoy cooking, baking, BBQ, all manners of achieving something eatables. I love to learn about cuisines from around the world. Surprisingly in a lot of my Asian cooking I am a traditionalist. I do not like changing authentic traditional recipes.
However I am happy to learn about new fusion of food. I also do not mind people changing traditional recipes with their own added twist as long as they have stated so.
I have been posting recipes on Facebook since the very beginning. I actually do not mind people sharing my recipes, copying and posting my recipes as their own or even using my recipes to do business. I subscribe to the maxim that if you post something on the WEB then be prepared to share. There’s no such thing as ‘steal’ on the net. If you are not willing to share then don’t post anything.
Remember ” Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” Oscar Wilde
The main purpose of this blog is to share and learn all about cooking from each other. All recipes have been cooked by me to the way I love and to my taste. All photographs are taken by me. I would attempt to answer all queries.
Just me – julie
